Families Cook Up Confidence with Jamie’s Ministry of Food Course!

Our third cohort of families has completed another fantastic four-week Jamie’s Ministry of Food course, delivered in partnership with Inn Churches.
Bringing parents and children together, the course gives our families the chance to spend quality time together, learn new cooking skills and explore healthier choices they can take home and enjoy. From preparing omelettes and discovering new fruits to cooking salmon with fresh salsa, our families have been trying new foods, learning about nutrition and understanding the importance of a balanced diet.

The course finished with a special visit to Darley Street Market, where families received vouchers to choose fresh fruit, vegetables and other ingredients to take home. We then enjoyed tasting fruit platters and making our own pizzas.
It’s been wonderful to see our families learning, laughing and spending time together, with many of the children wishing the course could continue “forever”!
“It’s been lovely to see how Jamie’s Ministry of Food has brought families closer together. Working with Inn Churches, we’ve been able to connect with parents and children in a really positive way, helping them learn about healthy eating, budgeting and cooking together. What’s been especially nice is seeing families take what they’ve learnt home with them and make time each week to cook and sit down for a meal together. It’s about so much more than food- it’s about building connections and creating positive habits that last.” - Dave Wilson, OIAM Community Activator

A huge thank you to Soraya and Julie at Inn Churches for delivering the course, and to Darley Street Market for supporting this fantastic opportunity. We look forward to welcoming our next cohort in November!
