A ‘tee-rific’ day of golf at the OIAM Charity Golf Day!

Thank you to all our guests who turned out in force to support our 18^th annual One In A Million Charity Golf Day!

We are grateful to everyone who supported our 18^th Annual One In A Million Charity Golf Day, proudly sponsored by BEF and Lily on Friday 22nd August 2025 at Shipley Golf Club, which was a great success!

The purpose of the day was to connect over a round of Golf and raise vital funds to support One In A Million’s continued work to provide hope for children and young people living in the disadvantaged communities of Bradford and Keighley and help break the cycle of generational worklessness.

We were delighted to have a strong entry of 29 teams this year from the local business community, world of sport (Andy Kiwomya and Brian Dean) and members of Shipley Golf Club, for what was a memorable day of stableford golf.

At the halfway point our guests were served refreshments by our charity team at the ‘Packet Inn’ Halfway House, generously sponsored by HSBC whose staff handed our branded goodies.

Following drinks and nibbles, our guests headed out to the 11^th Trick Shot hole, where golfers were challenged by professional Dean Davies to ‘beat the pro’ and donate to the charity, with some clever skills like hitting the ball from the Gym Ball or ‘High Tee’ which produced some great moments of humour. Gratefully supported by The Bingley Bantams team.

Before heading for food and drinks at the clubhouse at the end of their round, guests were given the opportunity to participate in the ‘Hit the Green’ Charity Challenge on the 17^th hole to win a sleeve of balls, expertly run by our OIAM trustees, Simeon Briggs and Mick Spratt and balls generously supplied by Jas Athwal.

We are grateful to all our guests who donated at both of these holes and throughout the course, your support significantly helped our fundraising on the day.

A fantastic day was rounded off with our teams enjoying a meal and drinks at the clubhouse before watching Dean Davis putting on a jaw dropping Trick Shot Show.

An excellent day was rounded off by Charity Executive Craig McHugh with a thank you to everyone who supported us and what it means to our young people and prize giving, generously sponsored by Expect Distribution.
