Barclays ‘tee up’ another winning day with FootGolf for One In A Million Charity

On Thursday 10th September 2026, Barclays hosted their annual FootGolf event at Calverley Golf Course, proudly supporting One In A Million as their chosen charity.

For the third consecutive year, colleagues, clients and friends of Barclays came together in support of One In A Million Charity, continuing one of the charity’s longest-standing partnerships.

Having first partnered with One In A Million shortly after the charity became formally registered, Barclays has remained a steadfast supporter for more than two decades.

Barclays continued generosity, encouragement and commitment have helped create opportunities for children and young people across the Bradford District, making this year’s tournament another fantastic celebration of partnership, community and fundraising.

The event welcomed teams representing AAB (Audit & Financial Services), Barclays, Belden, Isaacs, John Howe & Co., Parsons (2x teams), Sanderson Wetherall, Schofield Sweeney, Ward Hadaway, and YB Financial Advisory, with players enjoying an afternoon of friendly competition, networking and plenty of laughs.

Congratulations to AAB (pictured below), who claimed this year’s FootGolf title after an excellent performance throughout the course. In 2nd place was YBFA, and 3rd place was Belden.

One of the highlights of the day came on the Nearest the Pin challenge, where Ben Stevens from Schofield Sweeney (pictured below) achieved something never before seen in the event’s three-year history, a spectacular hole-in-one, prompting huge celebrations from everyone watching.

As always, the tournament was about far more than competition. Every kick, every conversation and every team taking part helped raise vital funds to enable One In A Million Charity to continue delivering life-changing opportunities for children and young people living in disadvantaged communities across the Bradford District, strengthening their physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, raising aspirations and creating real-life opportunities.

Garry McKie, Regional Manager, Barclays said: “The Barclays Local Business Relationship team was delighted to host another fantastic day of FootGolf and networking with fellow professionals in support of One In A Million Charity. The charity continues to do incredible work across the Bradford District, and we're proud to play our part in supporting that mission. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, together with Barclays' matched funding, we're delighted to have raised £3,110 to help children and young people across our community”.

Wayne Jacobs, CEO and Co-Founder of One In A Million Charity, said: Barclays has been one of One In A Million’s longest-standing supporters, standing alongside us almost from the very beginning. Their continued commitment over so many years speaks volumes about the values they hold as an organisation and the difference they want to make in our communities. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, supported the event and helped make another fantastic day possible.”

A huge thank you to the staff at Barclays for choosing One In A Million as your charity partner once again, and to every business and participant who joined us for another memorable FootGolf Tournament.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on the course next year!
