A Day of Adventure, Courage & Self-Discovery at Doe Park

What a day our young people had at Doe Park! Today, 27th July 2026, 27 young people from our Canterbury, Windhill, South Bradford, and Keighley Hubs conquered a thrilling day of daring challenges.

From kayaking and raft building to climbing and high ropes, there were plenty of opportunities to try something new, conquer fears, and have lots of fun along the way.

“I feel proper proud (climbing to the top) because when I was younger, I was scared of heights”. - Billy

One of the most special aspects of the trip was seeing our young people encourage and support one another. Whether helping a friend onto the raft, cheering someone up the climbing wall, or celebrating a successful attempt, teamwork and friendship were at the heart of the day.

For some of our young people, their biggest achievement was overcoming a fear, for others it was discovering more about themselves;

“I am compassionate. I try harder and harder each time. So, if I don't do it first time, I do it again and try more and more and until I get it”. Grace

“I learnt that I can do many things [...] I don't have to doubt myself by saying ‘I can't, I can't do it,’ but I can think of the positives and say, ‘I can do it, I can do it.’” - Clinton

We’re so proud of our young people for having a go, supporting each other, and discovering just how much they can achieve...
