May Half-Term: Fun, Friends, New Experiences

Our children and young people enjoyed a fantastic week of activities during the May half-term holidays, packed with fun, friendship, learning, and new experiences.

TUESDAY:

On Tuesday, a group from our youth clubs headed to Insane Air Trampoline Park for an action-packed evening. From trampolines to climbing challenges, the young people gave everything a go. The energy was high throughout!

“I’m hungry, I’m tired, I’m hot and I’m sweaty!”

“Can you send that video of me doing a flip to my mum? She’ll be well proud!”

A special moment came when the group encouraged a friend to keep trying a difficult obstacle, celebrating together when he finally succeeded. As they put it, “Teamwork makes the dream work!”

WEDNESDAY:

On Wednesday, 16 young people from our Canterbury and Woodside hubs enjoyed a trip to Flip Out. It was wonderful to see them having fun together, burning off energy, and making memories during the school holidays.

THURSDAY:

On Thursday, we visited the Bradford Science and Media Museum, exploring retro games in the Power Up exhibition and learning about light, speed, and sound in Wonderlab. The interactive exhibits provided plenty of opportunities to learn while having fun.

HOLIDAY CLUB:

Alongside the trips, our Holiday Club was full of activity. Young people made healthy fruit skewers while learning about different fruits, vitamins, and minerals, enjoyed time in the park, and cooled off with water games and a water fight in the sunshine. One young person said, “I want to stay at this club every day!” while another added, “This (holiday club) has been so fun today! I want to stay till night time!”

A brilliant week filled with laughter, learning, and opportunities for our children and young people to thrive.
