OIAM at the Fashion Ball: Celebrating Impact and Community

Yesterday evening was full of colour, energy, and celebration as the Fashion Ball returned for another year at the First Direct Arena.

The Gala Awards Dinner & Fashion Ball, created by Lisa Darwin, brings together organisations from across the region to celebrate individuals and groups making a real difference in their communities.

“This renowned and much-loved event, established for 27 years in Yorkshire and now hosted in several cities in the UK, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, and Liverpool, will continue to feature the prestigious National Business Hero Awards and celebrate the best of the best in each region.” (FB website, 2025)

Our Fundraising and Events Manager, Helene Coelho, was proud to represent One In A Million at the event, alongside our corporate partner Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors. We were especially excited to see Asma Iqbal take to the catwalk in support of our work with children and young people across the Bradford district.

I chose to support the OIAM Charity because every child deserves to feel seen and valued, and the OIAM Charity impacts society through the amazing work they do in Bradford to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Similarly fashion is about expression and purpose and I am using my profile and platform to shine a light on the OIAM Charity and the impact it creates because true beauty is found in compassion and giving back." Asma Iqbal, Chadwick Lawrence

We are grateful to the organisers of the Fashion Ball for creating a platform that enables individuals to champion causes close to their hearts.

Our sincere thanks go to Asma Iqbal for choosing to represent One In A Million on the catwalk, and to our valued corporate partner Chadwick Lawrence for their continued support. When respected professionals use their voice, profile and influence to stand alongside our charity, it helps raise awareness, strengthen opportunity, and ultimately benefit the children and young people we serve across the Bradford district."

We are proud to see our mission carried into spaces where impact and influence meet.
