Young People Shine in Streetwise “Goals Beyond The Streets” Tournament
After 10 weeks of hard work across our Streetwise community hubs, young people from Windhill, Keighley, Manningham and Canterbury came together for the autumn One In A Million Streetwise Finals 2025 - a powerful celebration of teamwork, character and aspiration.
This tournament’s theme, “Goals Beyond The Streets: Play Smart – Live Right” encouraged every participant to aim higher and make positive choices. In the lead-up, PC Huss (West Yorkshire Police) visited centres giving inspiring talks, and young people were directed to QR-coded posters linking young people to motivational video content on OIAM’s Streetwise website page.

Despite heavy rain and freezing winds, the lads showed outstanding passion and perseverance, choosing purpose and belonging over staying home. Their commitment spoke louder than the weather.
On the pitch, we saw character in action. From tough tackles to high-fives and genuine respect, players demonstrated maturity, self-control and the true values of OIAM.

The drive to lift the Gurmit Chand Memorial Shield showed how much this programme means. Gurmit, a champion for young people, would have been proud.

Tournament winners were: Junior Winners: Salts Black (pictured above) and the Senior Winners: Grange Madrid (pictured below). Congratulations to everyone participating!

Around 53 young people took part in the finals, supported by OIAM volunteers, coaches, and staff.
David Wilson, OIAM: “The tournament showcased community pride, teamwork, and the belief that every young person can have goals beyond the streets, and hopefully, aspire to a brighter future”.
Streetwise Day: ‘Dream Makers’ Half-Term Tournament (CLICK HERE)
Our half-term Streetwise Day on 30th October 2025 brought young people together under our theme “Goals Beyond The Streets”, supported by our fantastic partners Dream Makers (Arena Group), who once again provided goodie bags for everyone attending, which included a mini football and some fruit.
41 young people from Manningham, Canterbury, Windhill and Keighley took part, playing in great spirit across five mixed teams. Before the games, PC Huss, West Yorkshire Police, delivered a powerful talk on positive choices, friendships, anti-social behaviour, and staying safe during the autumn period.
The tournament gave young people a fun, active and constructive way to enjoy half-term. After some brilliant teamwork, the winners were Manningham Rovers.
A big thank you to Dream Makers for supporting this event for the third year running and helping us provide safe, high-quality experiences for the young people we serve.
