Positive Lifestyle

Positive Lifestyle celebrates the various cultural traditions of Bradford’s children and young people. We believe that every child is unique and valued.

Positive Lifestyle is able to provide informal learning for children and young people of all ages and abilities. Many of the themes are inline with the Personal, Social, Health and Economic education framework (PSHEe). We cover lifestyle topics such as (but not limited to) Personal Safety, Anti Bullying, Self Esteem, Healthy Lifestyles, Drug Awareness, Consequences of Crime, Reporting Crime Anonymously, All Different All Equal, Positive Me, Citizenship.

Positive Lifestyle themes are integrated within our open access kids and youth clubs and community holiday clubs.

The History of Positive Lifestyle:

Positive Lifestyle was originally an out of school experience whereby we provided quality training for children and young people in a safe learning environment of mutual respect, creating opportunities for all. Workshops would begin with a visit to the Bradford City football stadium. This included having a pitch side tour, before going into OIAM Free School where we worked with pupils to explore different life skills.

2018: we celebrated another exciting milestone of Positive Lifestyle, with our 35,000th pupil attending one of our workshops! 25,000 since Positive Lifestyle Centre joined One In A Million Charity.

2013: Positive Lifestyle Centre came under the governance umbrella of One In A Million Charity, taking up residence in their brand new Free School and later operating out of the Bantams Community Hub.

2009: With weekly attendance to our workshops steadily growing year on year Positive Lifestyle Centre gained charitable status.

2004: Positive Lifestyle Centre was launched as a new social enterprise non profit company. We also formed a partnership with Bradford City AFC.

1996: Positive Lifestyle Centre launched, known as “The Chalkboard Project” and was based at Odsal Stadium home of the Bradford Bulls Rugby League Club.
