The One In A Million Charity Business Lunch, ‘Building for Success Bradford 2023’ returned for its 7^th year at The Midland Hotel, Bradford. Sponsored by; Business Enterprise Fund, Complete IT Systems, LCF Law and NPS Engineering Group, this year's event was well supported by 165 guests from the Bradford business community.

Wayne Jacobs Chief Executive and co-founder of One In A Million, opened the afternoon’s proceedings by welcoming guests, speakers and sponsors and giving an update on the charity and our quest to rebuild ‘The Arc’ community centre on Canterbury estate, where OIAM has been operating for over 17 years.

Next on stage was Kersten England, Chief Executive of Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council, who gave an insight into the exciting developments planned for Bradford city centre and their potential economic impact for the future of our city.  

There was a great atmosphere in the room as both old friends and new enjoyed networking and a fabulous two-course lunch, served in the magnificent Princes Ballroom by the Midland Hotel’s wonderful catering team.

After lunch, we held our traditional fundraising game of Heads and Tails to win a Microsoft Surface Go, keyboard & pen, kindly donated by Complete IT Systems. Congratulations to Mark Atha from Watershed (Roofing) Ltd, who was our lucky winner.

Our next speaker Daniel Boulger, NEC Head of Venue Partnerships at Bradford Live. Guests were treated to an exciting update on the renovation works taking place on this iconic building, the forecast revenue that Bradford Live will bring to the local economy and the opportunities that will exist for local businesses to get involved.

Our final speaker for the afternoon was Shanaz Gulzar, Creative Director of Bradford UK City of Culture 2025, who spoke passionately about the 365 days worth of activities which will have a positive impact on the whole Bradford Metropolitan region.
