GCSE Results Day - Congratulations To All Students

20th Aug 2019. I would like to congratulate the students of OIAMFS on their examination success and academic achievements this year. Whilst recognising not all our students have the results they had hoped to achieve, for the majority it has once again demonstrated that hard work, resilience and determination can help you achieve fantastic results.

As a school, we are delighted that the number of students achieving Grade 4 or above in English has increased by over 16%, whilst the number of students that have not achieved a Grade 4 in Maths and English has decreased by a further 14%. This means that almost half of all Year 11 students secured a Grade 4 or higher in their English, whilst those achieving similar grades in Maths continued to improve by an additional 3% on 2018’s performance. Such results, combined with the outstanding opportunities, support and guidance our students receive within school, has ensured that the vast majority of our students can progress to Post-16 study, with 95% of our students already in receipt of a Post-16 offer.

Within these results there are some exceptional individual performances that deserve particular mention. Samia Khatun (pictured above) achieved a fantastic set of results which averaged over 3 ½ grades higher (per subject) than her target grades, whilst Abdullah Ijaz (pictured below) achievements included a double Grade 9 in Science, placing him within the top 4% of all students nationally. Both Samia and Abdullah will take up bursary places at Woodhouse Grove from this September.

The vision and ethos of OIAMFS is that we continue to improve. We are committed to building, enriching and enhancing opportunities to maximise outcomes for all our students as they progress in their journey for life after school.

Congratulations to Year 11 and thank you to all those who have worked tirelessly to support our students throughout the year.
